My Professional Approach:

As someone who has received electrolysis hair removal treatment (and as a Transgender person, married to another Transgender person), I am well aware of what it feels like to be "under the needle", and (more broadly) how difficult it is to move around in a global society which seems bent on making life harder for people like us.

The majority of my electrolysis colleagues, both here and abroad, have made the destruction of the hair follicle their number one priority during treatment. This makes sense; It's why you're here, right? I see and understand the validity of this approach, and make no value assessment one way or the other. But this way of working can (and often does) cause lasting damage to the skin, especially for Transgender women seeking full facial hair removal.

To be clear: all effective electrolysis treatment hurts.

My first priority is to make sure that you feel cared for, respected, and seen while in my treatment chair. My aim is to deliver the hair removal results you've come for, but with the lightest possible use of electrical current, minimizing the pain and damage to your skin that you will endure during treatment.

I want to reduce the physical trauma associated with gender-affirming care.

This is why, during the course of your treatment appointment, we may spend more time than other electrologists would, "playing with the levels" and testing hairs to see if they're ready. I'm moving in TINY increments, to reduce overall pain. I'm trying not to hurt you more than I have to, while destroying these villainous hair follicles. Thank you in advance for your patience!
